physician/character letter

posted this in the DO section with no luck so ill try here.
2 schools im applying to require a character letter. i am able to get a character letter from a doctor who is also a family friend, and whom i have never shadowed. would it be possible to use this letter to satisfy the Physician and character letter requirement? would it be looked down upon? i have not shadowed them but do know them personally. and before anyone says to just go shadow them now, they recently moved so i cant really shadow them now.

ive found a few threads where people also asked about situations similar to mine and most responses stated its not a problem as long as the writer attests that they believe you would be a good doctor, regardless of whether or not you shadowed that specific doctor.

It'll probably technically fill the requirement but so can a ton of other people for you. Them just being a doctor whom you haven't worked with in any professional capacity doesn't do anything for you really. Evne something as simple as a boss supervisor letter from say working at Chipotle would do this, and perhaps even better than some family friend of yours you have never worked with professionally but happens to have MD at the end of his name.
