So we have had a 1.4% increase in Medicare reimbursement over the past 8 years.
Meanwhile inflation has gone up over 19% during that same period.

Most private insurances base their reimbursement rates on a percentage of Medicare rates.
So physicians have effectively taken more than a 17% pay cut since January 1, 2002.
