An automobile travels in a straight line for 10 seconds at 20 m/s then accelerates uniformly to a speed of 30 m/s in the next 10 seconds. Find the total displacement.


A. 800 m
B. 450 m
C. 500 m
D. 550 m

Displacement first 10 seconds:
20m/s x 10 seconds = 200 m

Displacement after 10 seconds:
avg velocity= 25m/s, so displacement = 25m/s x 10 seconds = 250 m

total displacement: 200 + 250 = 450m. B
