I started off my Prereqs out of high school to a CC and did well, 3.75 GPA with 17 credits every semester. Now that I'm in UIC, just transferred, they require me to take 60 credit hours from a 4-year institution and 40 credit hours level 200 and above. Along with that, I have to take four semesters of a foreign language!!! I still need to take Physics II but it will be hard for me to fit this class in my schedule in the next two years because I want to finish these class requirements hypothetically if I do not get accepted to a Pharmacy School as a fall back. I am thinking about take Physics II at a CC in the summer because if I take it at UIC it would not matter anyways since it is a 100 level class and by doing the 200 level and up requirement, I would be over the 60 credit hours required at a 4-year university. Will taking Physics II at a CC hurt my chances in getting into a Pharmacy School!?!?!?!

I really don't think it will matter. You might not even have to address it if all your other grades are good and your PCAT is good.

I agree. It doesn't matter where you take your prereqs, they mostly care about how well you do in them. And physics is kind of a 'weed out' class anyway; most schools require this class to make sure students can handle higher level courses.

It is all relative. Make sure you get an A if you taking it at a CC. Most schools will tell you that taking your pre-requisites at a community college will not affect your chances of admittance.

I took both semesters of physics at a community college (different ones, actually). I really don't think it had any sort of impact on my application. Granted, I had a strong PCAT score, and I have a strong GPA. Our advisors actually tell us to take physics at the community college. Those advisors are also on the admissions committee for the pharmacy school, so at least here, it makes no difference.

I took both physics 1&2 at CC during the summer, and as far as I can tell this has made absolutely no difference for me (though to be fair I have a strong GPA and PCAT score...). I've been accepted to schools and that's all that matters in the end, right? Just do well in the course, and if you want to go to UIC for pharmacy school, they say themselves that it's the grade that matters- not were you took it.
