hello,, i just got my grades back and i got a C+ in physics lab...Does that mean I have to retake the lab part?? Also is it included in the science GPA??

What about math.. is it included in the sGPA or not??

I think most schools you need to get a C- or higher to get credit for it, so I think you're okay...and yes math is included in your sGPA.

I don't think schools differ much on it, so yes a C+ is fine (as in passing), but keep in mind you need to have other good grades to make up for it in order to be competitive for dschool...and yes all the labs are included in the sGPA too.

you're good....I hated physics and I don't like how we have to be tortured with it and not even get tested on it.

labs are included in the sGPA??? wow,, thats weird.. how does that exactly work considering that the labs are 1 credit class each and the lecture parts are usually 3 or 4 credit each.. Would they just add all the labs and lectures and divide it by the number of labs+lectures???or is here a another way?? there has to be...lol

my school has the lab and lecture together as 4 credits... technically 3 for lectures and 1 for lab but we got 1 grade for physics .... if your school does it differently it should just count as separate points

Well it depends...some classes are worth 4 credits, which includes both the lab and the class in one grade, so only one grade is incorporated in the sGPA. But some classes have a 3 hour lecture with its own grade and a 1 credit lab with its own grade...I'm guessing you know how GPA points (ie. A=4pts, B=3, etc) work, so just divide GPA points by total credit hours.

Exactly. The lab is sometimes considered as a percent of the lecture. This is helpful for some who are better in lab and do okay on lecture exams.

Or, the lab is 1 credit along with a 3 credit lecture.

In general, what is more effective/common: 4credit science course inlcuding lab or 3credit science and 1 credit lab). Personally, I do not like the structure of labs averaging into lecture grades especially, when the lab percentage is high (40%lecture - 40%lab - 20% lab). Labs are only one credit, why incorporate a high percentage!

my chem lecture is 4 credits and my chem lab is 3 credits..lucky you that it means so little for u!
