I was taking to my major advisor and she said I should take phsyics over the summer. Is this a good idea? Do medical schools like this?

they don't "like" it in the sense that they get all excited when someone does this. they don't care, really. the only time they might raise an eyebrow is if someone takes all of their hard science courses over the summer at some community college or something.
so basically, it doesn't matter. if it makes you happy, go for it.

good point fava, I agree completely with you. also, ask students at your undergrad and at the school you would be taking physics over the summer at what they think of the course. my undergrad is notorious for having a useless physics class (don't learn much, teachers dont teach well, etc), so a ton of people take it elsewhere over the summer and are better off.

just remember, as fava pointed out, if you are a non-science major, you want to take your other prereqs at your main undergrad school though, otherwise adcoms might think you are trying to avoid the more difficult science courses.

I took a few courses (Physics being one of them) during the summer when i went back home to NYC at CUNY. In my case no problem has been raised yet as i already have interviews from plenty of schools.

I will be doing this too, so I'm in that boat with you! I have talked to some people who've done it and they say it didn't hurt them at all, especially since they came back and took second semester physics at the regular university. The only complaint was that it's very compressed in the summer. I got the feeling that that made it tough for a friend of mine since physics isn't exactly his forte. But, anyway, other than that I don't think it hurts at all.

I took Physics I & II during the same summer (two different sessions) at my degree granting school. Think of it like a bandaid, pull that sucker off fast and it hurts less or is over quickly. Don't dare get behind in summer school.

yo dogs my nuts.
nawmeen?
