Hi everyone, I just finished calculus based physics II with lab, got an A, without taking physics I (I have placement exams for I and lab). Technically I have 10 hours of physics but from what I understand I need 10 hours earned with a grade for both...could someone clarify whater or not I would meet the requirement or if not suggest a physics class that would be appropriate

Thanks

Talk to an advisor. Take another physics course most likely. I would have taken physics I, even if I tested out of it. That means it would have been that much easier.

Well technically you don't, since that doesn't count towards your GPA (at least to med schools).
Schools are all a bit different so what you really should do is contact the schools to see what their policies are. But mostly I doubt if they'll accept a placement test, from what I understand many of them don't accept CLEP.
And besides, it would be to your advantage to take the first semester anyway, since a lot of important material is covered in the class, which are frequently covered topics in the MCAT.

agree with above posters and if you're already familiar with the material, it should be an easy a, boosting your gpa

Some schools will want all of the prereqs taken at the college level (as in an actual class), but some will be okay taking AP credit or placement credit as long as higher-level courses in the subject are also taken. I think this is one of those issues that will just depend on the schools you are applying to.

I did the same thing as you. I tested out of Physics I and II, but opted to take Physics II again for requirement reasons. I wouldnt worry about it, but it would be a GPA booster if you did want to take it again, especially since physics I is generally a bit easier than II i think.

Thanks everyone, I think I'll do that especially to pad my GPA for harder classes
