How do these Physiology review materials differ from each other?

How often are they updated? Are there questions inside the materials?

Is there an online version of the study guides available?

Thank you!

Which of your physiology materials is most recommended as supplement to textbook for first-year students?

I've heard good things about both High-Yield and BRS, what do you consider the main differences between the two?

The physiology monographs cover one particular system (cardiovascular, renal, etc) and are useful if you want more explanation of that system. The reviews such as BRS cover all high-yield topics in physiology that will be tested on USMLE or COMLEX Step 1.

Textbooks and monographs are revised approximately every 4 years and reviews approximately every 3 years.

BRS Physiology 4th edition has an online question bank included with purchase. BRS Physiology Cases & Problems has fully searchable text online included with purchase.

I hope this answers your questions!

Hi--this question has come up in several threads so far. BRS is more comprehensive and offers USMLE-style questions with every chapter, plus a comprehensive exam. It is probably the better choice for course review and to supplement your text. High-Yield is more succinct and includes only the most essential, testable facts--it's great for last-minute cramming before exams and Step 1!

I have a PhD physiology and am looking to continue teaching during and after residency. Do you currently make any educational resources for educators in physiology? Thanks.

Hello-

You do not say exactly what type of students you will be teaching, but our Rhoades: Medical Physiology: Principles for Clinical Medicine, 3rd edition comes with a faculty image bank and an online test generator of over 500 clinical vignette-style multiple choice questions that were written by the chapter authors. This text is targeted to physiology courses for students preparing for medicine or the healthcare professions.

You can also contact the LWW Representative for your territory who can work with you on solutions that fit your course. Check our "Rep Locator" on http://www.lww.com/replocator/map/

Please let me know if that does not answer your question. Thanks!

This may seem really weird, but just to make sure, are the online questions different from the ones in book?

On topic with the online questions, have they been adapted/updated with the new edition as well?

What updates have you made to the Brs Physio book? Is Costanzo the author of the book? She is an excellent author and a very nice women :)

The online questions are the SAME as the questions in the book. We provide them both ways because some students like to be able to do questions in print and some students want to get practice with the electronic interface. We try to make this as clear as we can in the descriptive copy and on the book covers. Thanks for asking the question.

Questions are always reviewed, edited, and updated with each new edition. If you indicate a specific book, I can provide more detail on what was done.

Thanks, LWW

Dr. Costanzo is a terrific person and educator! The latest edition of BRS Physiology included increased coverage of pathophysiology, new questions, and a new two-color design and artwork. (as well as providing the questions online)

Thanks,
LWW

do you have any physio products available for iPhone or iPod touch? and if so are they abbreviated versions or the complete text?
