I opened a previous thread regarding a meeting i had with my district leader where i was demoted to floater and my pic to staff. One thing i did not mention was that we were written up again. Though the metrics have improved a bit, and the results for the month of July are not up yet.
Any way, my partner got a final write up (level 3) and me level 2. I had no idea why he had to write up again, especially since we were getting demoted. Anyway, the good news is i am no longer in his district. I have a break.I am worried for my partner. We worked together for about 6 years.

Also, work really hard for the new district manager. Show him that he fell ass backwards into a good one. Take extra shifts, get everything done, etc. Unpleasant as it may be, you will have to turn it up a notch and ingratiate yourself to the new boss. If you play this right, you might wind up in a decent position. As much as it seems like it sucks, you may have a good opportunity here.

This is solid advice. If you can make a good first impression with the new boss that’ll go along way towards being able to explain off bad metrics later on. At least you’ll be more likely to get some benefit of the doubt.

I agree. And i worked for him before and he knows how i work and there is proof. The situation at my old store was not my fault . And i knew it would happen after we lost two 2 lead techs . One was let go. I did private message oldtimer about the issue. And it is sad that i have become a sacrificial lamb for things that i could not change.

At times i wonder whether it is not better to be a pic instead of being a staff working with a pic that is nice but unable to manage a store well. I knew this would come somehow . I am happy that the crazy district leader wont be able to write me up.

So if you are a good rph and you haven’t done anything wrong, why are you not fighting against your demotion/ hour cut? I don’t get it!

Good question. Unfortunately i dont think things work that way in retail especially cvs. They can decide to demote you if the metrics are not improving. It happens a lot. A friend of mine was demoted because his store had issue with customer service.Fact is the leader has made up his mind that he wanted change way before we got written up. And we did not even get a chance to show results.

You have to pick your battles...dunno all the details with OP's situation...but it seems like management was prepared and ready for this step. If I was the PIC, definitely..seems like he go the sht end of this. As for OP, he has a chance to start new with a new DM and new district. I think he got out okay, apart from the hours cut.

The point of writing you guys up again is to have evidence that you guys are still underperforming...they've talked / discussed with you about it...so if it comes up in a lawsuit...they should have an upper hand. In essence, they gave you a chance to improve.

Floater > Staff > PIC. Congratulations. Don’t think you will have trouble getting 40 hours. Just let other RPH know you are available to cover for them if they are “sick”. And even better if they can let you know in advance when they plan to be sick.

I would never recommend staying as a floater, as more and more hours are cut you will be the first to go.

Seems odd that both you guys were written up if you guys are hard workers. How bad were the techs? You can be the best worker out there but without decent techs it'll never show.

We lost two lead techs and the only experienced tech only works part time hours. So we mostly have new techs. And with the big cut in tech hours, it has been a disaster.

I've never floated regularly (all my float shifts in four years I can count on five fingers) but I would not like it from the standpoint of not knowing the "issues" (problem patients and problem clinics) peculiar to your store or having to deal with weak techs. At least if you are staff and are strong-minded you can help guide the store and have a say in how things should be done.

Driving to far-flung locations regularly would get old too but some people like having no accountability. No accountability and no work ethic = your hours should be the first to go

In regard to decent techs you have to make them at least decent. I've hired plenty of noob techs. Everyone starts off a noob. If they have any sense of work ethic and commitment to learning and remembering things they'll quickly adapt

Speaking of getting fired...if you are working in CA, how many months can you get unemployment benefits?

There's the issue, maybe they will notice it when the metrics don't improve.

This isn't meant as gloating but all my techs are reviewed at achieving expectations or higher. Our DHs are even ready to step in for call offs.

You just can't run properly without at least decent techs.

What a way to kick someone when they're down... lol Where is the loyalty and respect? they did this to you after working for them for 6+ years? geez. I'm getting sad just thinking about it. Keep your head up and look for another job. Hope you get something good soon.

Just curious, but how "bad" are we talking about the metrics that your DM chose to write you guys up for? Like bottom 10% of chain/focus store?

Mce at 72 ytd and 68 for July .
Wecare is bad...
And patient care at 50 ytd.

I'm surprised- especially because I thought CVS was getting away from WeCare at the start of 2018. I was thinking it was going to be because of repeated failed Regulatory/Compliance issues (RX validation; quarterly regulatory review, etc.).

Repeated calls to the ethics line and/or complaints to HR of a hostile workplace environment from your supervisor if all else fails.

Dude. It's over. Your name is "in the hat" aka they are actively looking for a way to fire you . The next time there is layoffs you will be the first on the chopping block. They do not want you with the company anymore. I would be doing job interviews.

This. It might not even be a real chance to improve. Just a facade to get a paper trail to make it easy to separate OP from the corp.

No, once he is in a new district it's like a do over.......

This is terrible, fatalistic advice. Each district is its own little fiefdom in CVS world. If OP bends the knee to the new boss and can make a good impression, they can put themselves in a good position.

My new district leader was my supervisor for almosst 5 years before cvs made all the change. I worked with him before and he knows me. So we will see.
