Okay, so we know JetPropPilot digs on the Patron. We know DrDre is laidback suckin' on Gin and Juice. Noyac sips the Don Julio (pronounced "HOO-lee-oh"). Venty apparently filled his wifey up with Sangrita before he filled her up with something else... (which is how he got his baby-daddy mojo going).

What is your current poison of choice?

Right now, I mellowing out after a hard day. It's the end of the month, and hence the end of a tough rotation. So, I'm chokin' down a little Clamato, Absolut Peppar, and olive juice with a big sprig of celery and a dash of Tabasco. I've got light cases on an short day tomorrow and the weekend off, which will be the first full weekend off in three weeks. So, I'm starting a little early.

Across the street from Childrens Memorial is a bar that has 2 dollar pints of anything on wednsdays.

I had 5 pilsner urquell's and a ride home on the El.

Total cost: Zero. Thanks to the sponsoring attending (hooked up about 10 of us lowly residents).

At home, Ron Zacapa Centenario 23 year old rum. I like it so much I even commit the crime of mixing it with coke and lime when I'm not in the mood for it straight. Surprisingly inexpensive for its age and deliciousness. I used to smuggle dark Havana Club into the US, but now I have no need.

I'm also set up to make a full range of classic cocktails (I ran a bar out of my dorm room in college, which paid for a large range of spirits I rarely use), of which my favorite is the Sidecar.

When I go out, recently I've been drinking all kinds of beer -- I order whatever I haven't tried.

I also like Bombay Sapphire in a nice dry, gin Martini. Also, Captain Morgan "Private Stock" sipped on ice is nice.

(I rarely drink, though. Just tonight felt like I needed one.)

Got turned on to this stuff in Nicaragua, nice and smooth on the rocks.

flor_de_cana.jpg

I think it goes without saying what my favorite drink is. I've got about 12 bottles ranging from the cheapest of the cheap (Dewar's White Label, Cutty Sark) to much nicer (Glenfidditch 18 year, Johnnie Walker Blue). I bought the cheap ones myself, the expensive ones were allllllll gifts.

whiskey and diet coke. I hardly even care what kind, but Jameson if I'm going to be picky about it.

Almost any kind. Bottle or can. What can I say... I'm very sophisticated.

Small batch bourbon, on the rocks. Usually Knob Creek.

Otherwise a hefeweizen (kristal or dunkles hefe)

You must mean Halligan's. Every time I'm in that place, it's up to the rafters in hot girls. Remarkable.

Mac 12 neat vs Bombay sapphire dry martini.. those are the standbys of course..😀
a little rusty nail or a between the sheets/sidecar when I want to get fancy..
I'm also a big fan of Appleton estates rum from Jamaica, but only in warm/beach weather.😎
Oh and the occasional cali-cab.. god I might be an alcoholic..😱

Do like my Gin and juice, beginning to like Laphroig sippin' peat. My daily libation is wonderful Terminal GRavity IPA. Love my shiraz.

Unfortunately, my damn job and running addiction definitely cut into my quality inebriation time!

Glad to see that there are some tequileros on this list, although I wish Jet would consider branching out from Patron to some others, since Patron is actually fairly mediocre compared to most other tequilas in its price range.

I love the 1942, although it's a bit pricey to drink every day. Same is true for the other personal fave, Jose Cuervo's Reserva de la Familia.

When I just want a daily fix, I like the Tonala Suprema anejo, De Los Altos anejo, Espolon reposado, or Casa Noble blanco.

If I don't want something in the realm of tequila, I can always go for a good Belgian beer. Give me a Grimbergen Dubbel or Rodenbach Grand Cru and I'll be quite content.

Duvel. 'Nuff said.

scotch - a fine single malt will do; my fav is the standard, the glenlivet 12 year, neat. i got the "nadurra" as a christmas present, it goes well with a little splash of water or a cube or two of ice. the 18-year is like candy; i finished off a bottle in a few short weeks last year - so smooth.

bourbon - i was always a maker's mark and ginger ale guy, but i've recently acquired a taste for basil hayden's or knob creek on the rocks.

beer - yuengling lager is my absolute favorite, always will be. amstel light and sam boston lager are standbys as well; also, bud heavies have made their way into my beer fridge, and i find them surprisingly tasty.

although nothing beats a cold 30-pack of miller lite for those long days of tailgating in the fall. 😀

Never say "always". My beer taste has changed dramatically over the years. My favorite is the heavy "meal" types. Guinness is always on the top. But I have also become very fond of the mexican imports. Not Corona. 😱

But the idea I am getting at is that your taste will change. I liked the ambers then the Hefe's and on and on. It changes all the time and with the season not to mention the activity. Hefe after a long hot day on the bike. Amber after a long cold da on the mtn. Chimay after a long hot night in the sack with your wife or in Jet's case, S.O.😍

By the way Jet,

HAPPY F*CKING MARDI GRAS

There is this bar in the Miranie (?) district that I flat out love. Dark, cold Irish style with great beers on tap. I really need to remember the name and meet you there soon.

I like crown and seven-up with a twist of lime 🙂 The lime makes the drink.😛

Scotch = Glenlevit 12yr or Glenfiddich 18

Whiskey = Knob Creek, Woodbridge Reserve, Basil Haydens (nuttin can beat good old Turkey & Coke at deer camp though)

Rum = Pussers, Appleton Estates & 10 Cane (made from pure cane sugar)

Beer = I LOVE BEER!!! (and have the body to prove it)
Mexican: Negro Modelo, Modelo Dark, Modelo Especiale, Tecate, Carte Blanc
Candian = Moosehead
Aussie = Castlemaine's XXXX
English = Newcastle (nectar of the Gods), Bass, Theekson's Old Peculiar (a straw will stand erect...other things may not)
Irish = Smithwick's, Guiness

Doesnt DT have something like 10% ETOH. I've gotten a bit too buzzed a bit too early on that beer because of the alcohol content.

The DT beer is about 8.5-9% alcohol, which is a median amount for Belgian beers. They seems to average about 6-7% or so, making their run-of-the-mill beer about twice as strong as any American offering. The Grimbergen Dubbel I mentioned is about 8%, but tastes so good that you don't think about it...until it's too late, that is.

There's a brand of Belgian beer called "Kasteel" that my wife and I drank often while we lived there that clocked in at 12% alcohol. I think my liver is still pissed at me for that to this day. :meanie:

agreed on a different beer for a different time; i was referring to more of "stranded on a desert island" favorite, which i'm sure we all have. and i'm sure you have been drinking beer longer than i have, but yuengling has been my favorite for 13 years, not sure if it will change.

Jet's favorite beer.

If you like Duvel try this one (the name says it all :meanie:)

You should also check out gulden draak. Another belgium beer, real nice

My drink of choice is the simple tanquerey and tonic

Beer - Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA for an everyday beer, the 90 minute IPA on special occasions (voted best IPA in the country), a nice 22oz of Stone Arrogant Bastard Ale when it's time to get rowdy

Wine - is it Spanish and under $10? Count me in

Spirits - rarely I'll have a Beefeater or Ketel One martini, maybe a caipirinha (don't drink the cachaca straight! you will go blind!)

Crown and ginger goes down like water in the summer

Vent, you ARE a whisky guy! I'm assuming the Makers Manhattan is made with Makers Mark?

Maker's is my favorite bourbon. Only had Scotch once or twice. Last I can remember was Johnny Walker Black Label, and I didn't like it at all. Are Scotch's pretty variable, you guys? Personally, I don't think that bourbons differ THAT much. But, I'm only familiar with Makers, Knob Creek, and Boulliet Brothers (not sure on spelling).

Anyway, I think I prefere bourbon over pretty much any hard liquor.

I hit the "brown water" sometimes.

For me, bourbon = instant headache.

Try a nice single malt on the rocks, like Laphroaig. You can sip on a nice 10-year-old on the rocks (which won't break the bank either). Delicious. That peaty flavor really comes out and lingers. Good sippin' stuff. If you get used to it, it will rock your world.

Thanks. I'll try it for sure.

Anyone ever tasted Luksosowa Vodka? It's Polish and made from potatoes versus grains. I'm not a super aficionado, but man, this stuff is VERY smooth, and contrary to what many claim about vodka having "no taste", it actually has a great taste.

Let me know if you've tried it, and if so, what you guys/gals think.

I have tried single malts and whisky, in general, many times. Each time, I said this is sposed to awesome but I thot it sucked. Then, I tried Laphroig randomly at a friend's house and loved it. I found a bottle in paris and went through one in about 3 weeks, just sippin a little every night. Love it. What an amazing, bizarro taste.
