I'm a senior who will be applying next year. For next semester I'm picking between two classes for my final semester, and I'm wondering what you guys think. The classes are:

Genetics (3 creds) [unknown/lukewarm prof]

or

Mammalian endocrinology (2 creds) [excellent prof]

Just some background.. I'm a nonscience major. the only science class besides the prereqs I have is animal physiology. anyway, I realize genetics (and biochem) are the recommended bio classes outside of the prereqs, but genetics is the only one available to me due to scheduling issues.

I think the mammalian endo class would be really interesting and might help me review for the mcat (which i will be studying that semester anyway). but the same could be said for genetics.

I would love to take both, but I don't want to be stressing about my gpa too much while studying for the mcat. Do you think med schools would think ill of me NOT doing genetics and biochem and having taken animal phys and endocrinology instead?

I would appreciate your advice.

Endo sounds really interesting, but do you think you'll be prepared for that kind of course as a non-science major? It would probably be a lot of memorization.

I love me some hormones. I vote for endocrinology. Also, you've probably already had some general endocrin stuff in your physiology class so it shouldn't be too bad.

Genetics is fun, but it can be dry at times.

Endocrinology, though I haven't taken it, sounds like a really cool field. Good studentsmanship looking at the professors 👍, I vote endo.
