Picking Prelim Programs

Does anybody have advice about how to pick prelim med programs to apply to (besides location)?

I know by word of mouth which programs to avoid around my current city, but I have no clue where to find that info for other places.

What other factors do you consider in picking places?

its just one year. the only thing im concerned with is location and hours.
