Are there programs offering on-site interviews only? The fellowship director at my current residency told me that all of the programs have agreed to make things virtual. Even my own program won't be interviewing us on-site because it would be unfair for the candidates who interview virtually.

You are correct - I read an interview invite a little too fast this morning and it made it seem like they were inviting for an in person interview. After I re-read it more carefully, they mention virtual a little later in the message.

It’s basically “late August” and I feel like there are still so many programs pending decisions....?!? Anyone else feel this way or am I alone? Lol

OMG it is so quiet. I keep getting antsy but then the programs I haven't heard from has been posted in her. I wonder what is taking so long

Yea it seems late. The fellowship director at my residency has been good about being in close contact with us and told us that a lot of programs are making decisions end of this week and/or early next week. Hang in there y'all!

I saw that someone shared Emory sent out an interview invite on 8/18. Anyone recieved an interview invite from Emory since that date?
Just curious if they are done sending out interview invites. Was really hoping to hear from them

Hey! Good luck everybody...just curious where you're at in terms of hearing back from places. I have about a handful of interviews scheduled but haven't heard anything from some of these places listed, and still waiting to hearing on a whole bunch as well. I'm just wondering whether we'll hear rejections or not from some spots or if there will be a second wave of interview invites coming...

I've only had 2 rejections so far. Both posted above. It seems like a lot of programs haven't said anything yet...so the waiting game continues. Some programs have been sending out second wave but we also already knew about the first wave. Still a lot we haven't heard from

It feels like all the programs are making their own schedules and timelines. Last year, applications were due mid-July and the earliest interviews were sent out around the 1st week of August and kept coming through the 3rd week of August! If this is any indication of what is going to happen this year - with the assumption that programs are NOT having a quicker turnaround time for review of applications - then we should still be hearing from programs through next week....

But, in summary, coronavirus sucks anddddddd we're alllllllll victims of its inconveniences!!!!! sigh.

I just got an email saying "thank you for the application, we plan on sending out interview in the next couple days" earlier today. I got another initially which said "first week of September" as well as another recent one saying "I know we said end of August but so many applications!, let's do first week of September instead," so there are definitely more first wave coming. I am also approaching the point where I need to think about cancelling interviews if I get more, so some will probably trickle through as that happens to people.
