NOTE: I have the HARDCOPY of the Pilot2004 question paper, so plz donot ask for any email copies. Thank you.

Just finished the test and have a few doubts(I have already checkd the other threads regarding 2004 key doubts)....

An infection spreading by way of the lymphatic system from the vermiform appendix first enters the blood stream at the
Renal vein
Appendicular vein
Inferior vena cava
Brachiocephalic vein(ans)
Internal thoracic vein
Can anyone xplain this one? I thot it wud've been the appendicular vein...Brachiocephalic drains head neck n upper limbs...wut does that have to do with the appendix??

Which of the following pairs of amino acids is expected to be found on the interior of a globular protein?
Lysine and arginine
Arginine and leucine
Leucine and valine(ans)
Valine and glutamic acid
Glutamic acid and lysine
This one i just have no idea, my biochem is weak...i just mugged up the answer, bt perhaps sum1 can shed more light??

***I found this question on a previous thread bt wasnt convinced the xplanation***If the patient and dentist elect to extract tooth 30, sectioning of the tooth will be required. The dentist should be aware of which of the following furcation on this tooth?
A. One
B. Two - mesial and distal
C. Two - facial and lingual(ans)
D. Three - mesial, distal and facial
E. Three - facial, mesial and lingual
The tooth has TWO ROOTS, i.e ONE FURCATION....answer should be A. But say there was a misunderstanding and the question meant roots, still then answer should be B...Mesial and Distal Roots, NOT facial and lingual....any1 second this?

***Even this question was mentioned sumwhere, cant find it now tho****Clinical examination revelas that the lingual cusp on Tooth #5 is broken off. This is MOST likely due to wich of the following mandibular movements during trauma?
Left mesiotrusive(ans)
Right mesiotrusive
Protrusive
Left laterotrusive
Right laterotrusive
I do understand that mesiotrusive(mediotrusive) is the non-woking side movement...bt then Left Mesiotrusive AND Right Laterotrusive is the same...and the tooth in question is also in the right quadrant, I would rather pick Right Laterotrusive then....wut say??

Also a doubt regarding the paper itself...Does the Pilot 2004 have EQUAL number of questions per section?? I know they are all randomized....bt are there 100 of each?? I felt as if biochem questions were less n more of da...

.
Arginine = polar
lysine = polar
leucine = nonpolar
valine = nonpolar
glutamic acid = polar

Nonpolar tertiary folding would want nonpolar to be on the inside of a globular protein.

Lymph travels in their respected vessels.An infection of the appendix would spread via the thoracic duct which empties at the brachiocephalic vein. Lymph doesn't travel in veins so all the other answers make no sense.

The right and left are dictating the way the jaw is moving... mediotrusive and laterotrusive is dictating the quadrant of teeth..... if you choose right laterotrusive the buccal cusp would fracture. in right laterotrusive the buccal surface of the buccal cusp of 28 would contact the lingual surface of the buccal cusp of 5, hence most likely to fracture. In left mediotrusive the lingual surface of the buccal cusp of 28 would contact the buccal surface of the lingual cusp of 5. Therefor it could likely fracture that cusp.

You might want to look at a dentaform b/c there are alot of buccal and lingual in that answer.

you are correct in that they would be the same two quadrant contacting each other but the jaw movement is different and therefor different inclines would be contacting between the two.

Hey THANX A TON!! that clears up a lot of things!! 👍

Just one thing...as u mentioned, in the RIGHT LATEROTRUSIVE i now understand which cusps are contacting on which surface, just wanna know WHICH cusp is the fractured one...the Buccal of 28 or the Buccal of 5?? I suppose buccal of 5 since its nt as strong as buccal of 28??

Oh and wut is dentaform?? 😕 I'm a week away from the test(28th July) n i have heard of it the first time...

Thanx for the prompt reply..I suppose i'll skip on the dentoform, its too expensive to buy n i have just a week left...u didnt tell which cusp wud fracture in right laterotrusive..
