hello. guys..
I got an email from Rose now b/c I told her my situation. I have an inverview on 3/3 at USC so I have to leave today. I said that If I am accpeted, I do not need to go to USC.
so she emailed me
she said that I have not been given an outright acceptance.
so I called her. she said that I am on waiting list and also said that she know my ranking in waiting list but she can not tell me my ranking.
today I have to leave for usc interview.
I hope this is help.

i never got a phone call. i found out dec. 1st through aadsas (status changed from interview to offer made). so maybe check the website...

the only people who would get a call would be those people who interviewed during January or February. Acceptances for last semesters interviewees have been sent out. That said, I didn't get a call either.
HOpefully its just because my last name is at the end of the alphabet and she hasn't gotten to me yet. 😳

Just got the call. 8:25 am. First acceptance.
12:12 and still no call. This cant be good. Perhaps I will get on the wait list. I really enjoyed Pitt, and I hope I get in

if you dont get called today, dont worry. rose told the fall interviewees that if we were accepted, we would hear on dec. 1st. i didnt get a call dec. 1st and was kinda bummed out, but she called me dec. 2nd saying that she only did the first half of the alphabet on dec. 1st.

I have sent acceptance letters out to a number of candidates this morning, and am writing you to announce that you have been added to our alternate list.
Admissions Officers at all dental schools are aware that their school will not be a perfect fit for all accepted applicants. We easily anticipate, at best, a 65% return acceptance rate. Often during the next few months, as West Coast schools and Canadian schools begin in earnest to accept applicants, we will see another 20-25% of the accepted class drop out to accept school offers from home or state schools. For this reason, you should be aware that the University will dip into our alternate list with much regularity. I cannot tell you when these openings will occur, but wish to tell you that as they do, we will continue along the wait list as indicated by the Admissions Committee. I am not at liberty to give a specific ranking.
A letter has been mailed to you explaining this process, and I ask that you return your interest response no later than March 24. I appreciate the stressful position this puts you in, and hope that there will be good news for you very soon."

Got the call at 4:15 and I was in a meeting, so I couldn't answer. I had figured it was too late by then, and the caller ID was blocked, so I thought it was my girlfriend calling from work. After the meeting I checked the voicemail and it was Rose but she didn't say whether or not I was in. I had to sneak out of work and call Rose from my car in the parking lot b/c my employer doesn't know. It was the hardest thing for me walk back into the office with a straight face. Fortunately I only had to stick around for another half-hour. This is the school I wanted, so I'm really happy. Congrats to everyone else who got in.
if i didnt receive a call or email, is it safe to assume that I did not get in?

I got a call 12:40 PST, by then I'd given up hope and had gone out, cause frankly I was going a little stir crazy sitting there, waiting for the phone to ring. Thankfully I came back and found her message, called her back just as she was getting ready to leave. I'm in too!! 🙂 yeaah!!!

Tufts class size is around 160. The lecture halls and labs are located on 7th and 8th floor. There is no way for me to take the stairs to 7th floor to attend a lecture. Everyone has to squeeze in the elevator. Just not my cup of tea.Mysteree said:

Oh, I didn't know that, that sucks. So mind my asking you why you're choosing Pitt, over Tufts (ok, big class size, and pricey) but even over UCSF? I'm curious, cause maybe you saw something that I missed, or perhaps don't realize how unique it is.

Pitt students are more laid back than UCSF students-- they seemed to be stressed out at my visit. Pitt also is a great place to live in and I just want to live happily while i am still in school.Mysteree said:
