Hey guys,

Well now that I am on UPitt's waitlist, I feel like I should write a letter. For you guys in the know at UPitt, or who are also on the waitlist, who should the letter go to? They have so many deans and directors at Pitt, im confused as to whom I should address the letter.

I guess this could also be a general Pitt waitlist thread. Feel free to say something if you are waiting like myself. OH, I guess it would be nice if people that got into pitt off the waitlist from previous would post and tell us when they heard.

i'd probably send it to Dean Curtiss. he seems to be the one in charge. i'd assume you send it to whomever signed your waitlist letter. best of luck.

Be aware that Pitt's list is ranked, so sending a letter may not do any good.

Then again it can't hurt. I send them a LOI and an additional LOR back in February so I'm hoping that helps...

I'm still waiting on my first acceptance and I'd love to go to any of the schools I've interviewed at, but ideally I'd like to stay in Pittsburgh. All we can do is wait I suppose.

I am in the same boat as you. Waiting on my first acceptance, but really wanting to go to UPitt. My student interviewer said that I should definitely write a letter if I was put on the waitlist, so I think I will go ahead and do that. Do you know when, typically, waitlist movement starts at Pitt?

I didn't know that Pitt ranked its waitlist. But I guess if they rank everyone at the end of interviewing (rather than ranking ppl on a rolling basis) then writing a really great letter may place you ahead of someone with the same stats who hasn't shown as much interest. Although, I feel like im kinda nickel and diming the admissions ppl that way; im really not that type of person.

Based on the waitlist threads in past years I don't think their waitlist starts moving until after the May 15 deadline. But it does move.

Hey guys,

Just got the news today- waitlisted, too. Totally thought it was a rejection at first until I read it slowly. Still waiting for first acceptance. Staying hopeful, but not holding my breath to get off the Pitt waitlist. Good luck to all of us!
