Hi guys, I am accepted in University of Pittsburgh, and got an email from Rose about the summer orientation. I have already had a plan for my summer and will be leaving the country. I really dont know if the summer orientation is that important. I will go to Pittsburgh 2 weeks before school starts to prepare. Do u guys think I should attend the 3 days orientation?
Anyone not going?

The e-mail said that they will be talking about financial aid then. I don't know about you, but this is an important subject for me. I just bought my plane ticket last night to be there for the entire time.

I know that we fill out our promisory notes and learn how much we will be awarded for financial aid - as well as how much we will need to beg the bank to lend us. Also, most people say that orientation is when you find your roommate and get your lease situated...were you planning to find a place to live in the two weeks before you got to school? If so, that may be slightly dangerous considering there will be med, dent, pharm, undergrad, and a plethora of Ph.D. students all vying for the same housing - not to mention CMU students as well. I am assuming people are going to meet there (if they haven't met already) and pick roommates...if you are planning to live alone you eliminate the need for that, but I would still at least call around to different apt. complexes and see when they fill up. I know that in my school's town we are very filled come the end of August. Just a thought -
