Places to live around Barry University

I talked to one person on this list already who mentioned that areas near Barry University itself aren't exactly prime choices for living. Can anyone help me out in finding a place to live that is decent, semi cheap ($600ish per month for rent total) and can accommodate two people (one guy one girl). I live in FL but I live in Jacksonville so it's a little hard for me to just make a trip to Miami and find a place. Any input would be helpful especially if you actually went there or are currently there now and live in a nice place. Thanks! (Does not need to be furnished).
