I'm going to head down to the Phoenix area after graduation at the end of the month to take a look at places to live. Does anybody know of some apartment complexes near campus that I should check out, or anything like KSL.com in utah for AZ?

There are two really nice apartment complexes on Behrend called Sage Stone and San Lagos. San Lagos is a Mark Taylor property and can be seen at Mark-Taylor.com. I'm not sure about the Sage Stone website.

San Prado is right across the street from the dental clinic

Get on rentals.com. You can use the get directions feature and get map/distance/time to destination.

After our interview I went over to Sage Stone apts just across 59th. They were awesome. ~800-850 for a big 2 bedroom apt, with year round 24/7 pool and fitness center, I think she said they were built in 2001. And they are all pre-wired for Directv, which I like. Qwest is a great phone company and they are in Phx, you can get dsl/directv all through them for cheap. They also take dogs.

The complex next to sage stone and a hair closer to campus I believe is San Prado? I went in there first and she said they only take cats, so I left. Looked really nice though I'd consider them also if you don't have dogs.

If you can qualify for a loan, you ought to look into buying a house... your payment could be $600 a month or so for a 3 bedroom place.

is living on campus better pricing and conditions than off campus in like Sage Stone apartments?? I will be moving there in August and I was wondering if I should make a deposit for on-campus housing for one bedroom or just look around for off-campus but very close to dental clinics? I would appreciate it if somebody could give an advice..

Living on campus is easier, one bill (except electric) and close to classes. The only downfall is that you're on campus, meaning you have some rules to abide by, lack of other amenities you would have off campus (own laundry, bigger space, pets, etc.). Overall, if you enjoy living on campus, go right ahead, the price isn't really that attractive compared to other apartments in the area IMO.

Keep in mind that those complexes (San Prado, San Lagos, Sage Stone) are the most popular b/c MWU has many programs by which those students need housing and not to mention none students by which they will tend to have a waiting list, so keep that in mind. There are many many nice apartments in Glendale, Peoria, Phoenix...do a thorough search. A 10 minute drive isnt that bad come your 6th month and you see your classmates everyday, and now you gotta go home and live right next to them...lol, not a good look if you ask me! As another poster mentioned, a house is an great option, thats what I did...not exactly bought one though, but rented out a room in a really really nice home 1/2 mile from campus and that worked out great! Or you can get some folks together, and rent out an entire house, a lot of students do that as well.

Sierra Canyon. I live here w/ a few of my classmates and like the layout of our apartment, the office staff, and the maintenance guys. It's a 5 minute drive to campus and is less expensive than San Prado and San Lagos.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it..I chose on-campus housing for now and we'll change once I get there and get to know the area better 🙂
