My first semester of college was a little bumpy. I received a 2.0 in general chemistry. I read on their websites that students who received a C- or lower in a course must retake it. I did well on other upper level science courses, so would it hurt me if I retook the general chem course at a community college this summer to save me money?

You should call LECOM if that is one school you have your heart set on and ask them that

As a general rule for DO schools, a CC course or even several (assuming you do well on them and the MCAT) are not a problem.

2.0 is a C, not a C-, unless that what your school consider a 2.0

A 2.0 is a C according to AACOMAS. That's what matters.

It would only help you to re-take it. If you have the time & can spare the money, I would suggest retaking it.
