Hi :joyful:
I want to retake my last physics class with lab. I was on the quarter system and will retake them at a university on the semester system. I'm doing a DIY postbac and was wondering about a few things.

1. Should I try DO grade replacement or a DIY post bac?
-does anyone regret trying DO grade replacement?

2. is there a minimum number of units expected by DO admissions?

3. if you took a post bac what do you think made your successful?

4. do you think that rate my professor is accurate on the easiness scale?

5. I'm signed up for a human physiology lab with a harder professor. However there is a physics lab that I want to retake with a potentially better/easier professor (its still physics so idk how easy it can be... I took it at a previous college and it was not easy). I could take either or possibly both. which would you do?

6. did you have any issues retaking quarter system classes on the semester system.

GPA? MCAT score?

under 3.0 cum and science with a 25 MCAT

How many science courses do you need to retake (lower than B-)? Do you have A's in a few upper level bio courses to show adcoms you can handle med school? Some schools need minimum 90 credits, some need Undergrad degree. Read the AACOM CIB for that. My post bacc wasn't enough this cycle so I am doing an SMP. I trust ratemyprofessor if there's at least 5 recent reviews. If you're limited in class offerings, you need to bite the bullet and adapt to succeed. My calc-based physics was a 5 credit course. I had to retake it 2 states away as it was the only one I could find over the summer in the Northeast. I never took quarter system retakes so I can't answer that.

On the quarter system its 14 on the semester system it would be 7. No A's in upper div bio classes just B's . I already have a bachelors degree.

I would go DO. You are several years away from MD. To get into MD you would need to:
1.) Do a postbacc and ace it.
2.) Possibly do an SMP and ace it.
3.) Retake the MCAT and crush it.
If you fail at any of the above, your chances at med school (MD and DO) are shot for good. The safest and quickest path is just to do DO grade replacement.

I'm going to apply for DO schools/SMPs May 2016. I have LOR's from DOs. So retake classes and add in a upper div bio class or two?

Taking new classes and acing them shows growth in addition to recovery. I would take more than a couple

Do you have any study tips?
