Ok so here's my dilemma- As a re applicant, my plan was to retake the DAT this past June, take a bunch more science classes this fall and in 2012, then reapply for 2013. However, I did well enough on the DAT that I felt comfortable applying for 2012, and was admitted. I graduated back in 09 and have all my prereqs done. My "planned courses" are immunology, histology and genetics. Should I spend the time and money to complete them? The acceptance packet does not say that my acceptance is contingent upon completion of planned courses, just prereqs. I am working full time and have a family of four. It will cost around 15K just to take these 3 classes at a private University. I really want to just gear up for year 1, get ready to move my family, and save money. Opinions???

I would make sure that the school isn't expecting you to take those classes. My school requires it even though the letter doesn't state it. Check and if they don't care then don't do it in my opinion. However if you don't check and find out later they needed to be done you'll regret it. Better to make a simple phone call now. IMO, i feel you should contact the admissions committee over the phone and verify this is acceptable. If they say yes, send an email the same day confirming your planed actions, who you spoke with, and request a verification email from the dean of admissions.
Yes i realize this may seem a bit overkill but having the decision documented could save you major headaches later on. (they feel you did not hold up your contract agreement through AADSAS and no one remembers you called)

When I do the AU, should I leave my planned courses for winter and spring quarter blank? I do have a tentative schedule for winter but it might change during the first week. I'm asking this because I do not know how strict most schools are with completing the planned courses.

i dont know about you guys but i just clicked on the red X in my planned courses and it disappeared from my app
