Planning to apply for CT Surgery fellowship

Hi all! I am planning to apply to CT surgery fellowship. I am currently a PGY-3 General Surgery resident. I assume that I apply this summer 2025 to start fellowship in 2027. I've been doing research and it looks like there's various match sites that CT Surgery involves (NRMP, ERAS, San Francisco match). I'm a little confused on this and how I will apply? I just want to make sure that I have adequate time for everything.

If anyone has any advice for applying as well, if greatly appreciate it!

The thoracic surgery match is through the NRMP. Apps are usually submitted in late fall, interviews start in late December/January and go through early spring. Match is usually in May

Make sure to apply widely and broadly! The traditional CTS residency match has become brutally competitive, with approximately 35-40% of US grads not matching every year.

I applied to every program both cycles I applied. Now is not the time to skimp on application costs!
