I am a future Medical Student and I know I will be studying in Mexico. I have considered a 3rd year transfer to one of the island schools to rotate in the U.S. My question is what are the chances of being able to become a Plastic Surgeon coming from a foreign med school? Anyone with information would help out greatly.

I would like to know the answer to this as well. From my understanding, it's really really difficult for IMG's to land this residency because it's super competitive even for US grads.

Thanks for that info. Can anyone provide more detail as to what it means. Is this only for PGY-1 positions? What about doing Plastics after completing a residency in Gen Surgery?
