Hey all

If someone's platelets come up from a couple doses of steroids do y'all take it at face value? Say a HELLP patient goes from 50 to 100. would you now do a spinal?

Why? Are a 100k circulating platelets not a 100k circulating platelets?

On the subject of platelets....Came up in rounds and on a hall question I was doing...1 unit of platelets raises the platelet count by 5-10 k per the Hall q's....is one unit equal to one five pack? Or each pack is a unit and a"5pack" raises by 25-50?
