One of my friend just gave step 1 and unfortunately score is really low. It is 85. I was just wondering if there is any scope this score. What else shall be done to make a profile better. Kindly advice.

Don't take this the wrong way, but better English proficiency couldn't hurt.

Best advice = Apply broadly and take Step 2 (do really well on it).

You haven't provided enough basic information to get an idea of what your friend's situation is...what was the three-digit score that came along with the 85? If he/she failed, then just take Step I again. If not, move on and rock Step II early enough that you have your scores before doing residency interviews.

Enough for what? You haven't divulge enough information for comments/suggestions to be made. At this point, tell your friend to do well on Step 2. Your friend can't do anything about the step 1 score anymore.
