I got my third MCAT score back recently and I hope to find out what would be a good idea for me to continue from here. So just a brief background about myself, I have graduated in 2011 with science major (GPA 3.4) and took MCATs twice before this (5/21/2010 V/P/B 4/10/9 O and 7/6/2011 V/P/B 7/9/9 P) and I got 4/13/9 Q back 5/19/12 exam...I took Kaplan course this time and focused on what I had trouble with, but I got really nervous during the exam and I think I didn't do as well as I could...
I actually went through 2011-2012 application cycle (14 MD schools) and I got 1 interview, but no acceptance. I was so set on rocking this MCAT and reapply for this cycle, but I'm not sure what my chances are anymore...
What would be my chance for MD and/or DO? I do have pretty solid EC (rescue squad, lots of volunteering, org president etc) and I could get new rec from the psychiatrist I'm working with right now.

Please give me any advice!! thank you!

You mcat isn't balanced BUT it is alright with some DO schools which will take your highest composite scores. 3.4/26 will get you interviews at some DO schools, if you do well..can possibly lead to acceptances.
MD is possibly out of question unless you take it again and get a balanced score of 30+.

I'm amazed that you were actually able to get an interview at an MD school with those MCATs, and am not surprised you were rejected. Don't take this persnally, the AdCom was reacting to those VR scores, which you do need to improve, especially if you a native English speaker.

I think, however, that you'll be fine for DO schools. You'd definitely get an interview at mine.

Goro, if you don't mind me asking, what school would that be? I've seen you around a lot on the posts ever since I started lurking around SDN.

Also OP, I don't think that 4 on V looks good, for DO either. Apply this cycle and prep for the MCAT again, also focus on V. Your improvement on PS was great.

Unfortunately that 4 in VR will immediately get you screened out of most MD schools, especially considering you took it 3 times and didn't drastically improve.

I really don't want to give away where I'm on faculty, so let's just say at a DO school, somewhere west of St Louis.

I understand. This is good to know though. Its also pretty nice of you to dedicate some time helping out the premed community.
