Major: B.S. Chemistry
Cum GPA: 3.55
Science/Math GPA: 3.59
PCAT: Taking in September
Work Experience: 1.5 years laboratory assistant, 2 years laboratory technician, will have 6 months experience of pharmacy technician (certified) at Walgreens once I apply
Community: 2 years American Red Cross volunteer, 6 years Humane Society volunteer, 6 months volunteer as laboratory assistant

I currently already have professors/pharmacists who have promised/writing letters of recommendations, and will be compiling necessary forms and documents (transcripts, personal essay, etc) start of June in preparation for July when PharmCAS opens up. Planning to apply to all the pharmacy schools in Texas with UT Austin as top priority.

Only problem I can anticipate is, is there an issue if I'm taking pre-reqs like Genetics while I'm applying for Pharm schools? I will be finishing all the prereqs definitely before enrollment in Fall of 2015.

So how do you far my chances and also what I can still do better to improve my odds. Thanks!

I think you have great chances. Will you be taking the PCAT? I would aim for an 80 or higher to be on the safe side. Your GPA along with your extracurriculars seem solid. The pharmtech experience is a plus. And as for the pre-reqs as long as you finish them before entering pharmacy school you should be fine I believe.

Yes I will be taking the PCAT in September (in time for Nov 1st, first round deadline for some schools)

You have a great GPA along with the extracurricular activities to back it up. Get a 70+ on the PCAT and I can see you getting interviews to almost every school you apply. Prepare accordingly and apply early.
