Hi guys

I'm running into desperate measures here hoping anyone who was successful for this exam/and or successful with their AAMC scores to spare me a few minutes scheduling my time for the last 5 weeks! I have already rescheduled my MCAT from January and don't want to run into same problems again! Please, anything will do!

Im writing April 24th, and Im starting to look at my schedule and where I am and there are some paths I could take but not sure how effective they are. I really want o write this test once - or at least show signs it will be done. I just recently read a thread, and one member said to give ~5 days to review each AAMC. That's not what I intended, so maybe I can get some insight please!?

My 1st idea is:
- I was thinking about spending the ~ 20 days going over as much practice passages + some TPR FL's on ~ all the topics that are giving me a hard time/weaknesses to strengths, using TBR passages, and reviewing them to enforce the material in my head. This will cause me to have around 2.5 weeks for AAMC 4 - 11 (I already did 3 and 4 in January and scored very poor so decided to reschedule my Mcat, but never reviewed 4, so I will retry). This means around 2 AAMC's / week with ~2 days of review per AAMC. This idea is due to the fact that I want to score well on my AAMC's to get confidence as I still think Im shaky with some of the contents!

2nd Idea:
- Not sure yet; this is plausible if it's true that ~5 days to take a FL and review the AAMC and related. This would cause me to cut short on specific chapters related passages, but feel like it could knock my confidence, but, it could be effective.

So as you can see I really need some guidance. I dont have much time left to test and try, and really want to seal the deal on this MCAT, really desparate 🙁 Am I too late?

Thanks!!!!!!!

You could purchase the Student Assesment package from AAMC. They have untimed sectional test for every subject with about 100+ questions. Each one takes anywhere from 2-4hrs to complete. After completion it gives you a break down of your strong and weak areas, and how you scored overall compared to the average examinee. It's extra practice and may help you to better pinpoint your weaknesses.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you. What makes it worse is that Im working full time so im just trying to study whenever possible. Hopefully you've started content review and are almost finished. Goodluck

Thanks @Dr.Keem , it must be hard working, I hear you.

I tried to write this in January, so I studied like I should from October - December, but I rushed my content, I was really weak on a lot of topics, even being a science student finished 2nd year! I did SA's before I began my AAMC's, and did well in the Bio and orgo section, poor in physics and chem. Did a lot of TPR related passages, then began in first week of january to do AAMCs, and scored abysmal on 3 and 4, with Bio and Verbal being very very low, and physical around 9-10 so it was hopeful to improve with time, others werent. Decided to reschedule and take more time to go over content again, with more practice passages, and using TBR in the mix. With many lazy and unmotivated days, I was able to get through most of it with more practice, but now Im wondering whats best to focus the last month and a bit on to not waste any time like I did first time through.

It sounds like you already have a game plan. The most important thing you should do in your last month is to apply all of the knowledge you've gained through your content review. To do so, I'd suggest you stick with regular passage practice mixed with AAMC FLs. I wouldn't recommend the TPR FLs unless if you're running out of practice passages or if you know already that you'll run out. Basically, I'd recommend doing something similar to the last month of my schedule with its mix of passage practice and FLs throughout the month.

not sure where you read that it takes 5 days to go over an AAMC FL but that's just craziness. Maybe a little over a day at the absolute most... I don't recommend any TPR FLs either. Just hit those passages hard and really target your weaknesses.

The legend @SN2ed himself, Im humbled 😛
Thanks for the responses guys, it helped me gain a little bit of confidence and see the light. I had to just focus on a plan, now hopefully I stick with it.

In terms of what you said, @SN2ed, how do you recommend spreading FLs over? I really wanted to hit AAMC's when Ive done a lot of practice passages because I hear that AAMC FL's give you crucial indication to the real thing and that they are precious to waste, so I don't want to be using them when Im not strong on passages etc. if that makes sense. Like do the 2/3 or BR/TPR/EK1001 for related contents, then I was thinking of starting FL's March 31- take a couple days to review each and fill in more with the extra 1/3 passages. I guess I can hold away from TPR FL's. Does that sound about alright, or were u saying from now until the MCAT day, distribute my FL's?

Thanks a lot!
