Hey,
Brief intro- I was homeschooled, graduated from HS early, doing first year of college at a local cc (will transfer in a year).
Ok- I will be transferring to a university in one year (fall 2012), and I have done a substantial amount of research about med school admissions.... However, just about how important is the undergrad university you attend? I know stats are more important, but since I have to transfer, there is not a huge difference between Virginia tech, VCU, and George Mason. Do med schools give a lot of thought into what school the applicant went to?
Also, I have a 4.0 so far (only like 20 credits, w/ bio 1, 2), but math is kind of the scary part. Is calculus 2 preferred by med schools, or will calc 1 and stats suffice for all the math needed in undergrad? Also, what is the policy with online math classes (calc)? I know science w/ lab is bad to take online, but does the same rule apply in calculus (no labs)?
The courses I'm most terrified of are basically physics and calculus (I'm not THAT bad at math, but due to my non traditional HS, I haven't had any exposure to either physics or calc). Any advice you guys can give me with these two classes? Thanks all...
