Okay, let's try not to reach THIS LEVEL OF LAME

I don't lurk and read every thread on SDN. Basically, your stickies SUCK, and I couldn't find the main 2008 experiences thread. I looked through that, and I bought FIRST AID and looked at the book rankings, and then decided from that.

It seems, BRS physio, RR Path, and first aid are the bread and butter of the test, and everything else is just hit or miss. Some people have only a few embryo questions, so people have like 13. So it's really random as far as the weight put towards each of these other subjects OUTSIDE OF THE INFORMATION IN FIRST AID....

I'm thinking this booklist is pretty solid. My only question would be regarding some of these thicker books - if they are necessary....if I should replace with something else. I plan to incorporate them into my coursework.

I just laughed the guy above (I found it was funny) and no offend here. Anyway, your booklist looks pretty solid though. However, isn't it a bit too much since you don't have time to read all of them? Personally, I stick with FA for Pharm, path: BRS, and for Anatomy, embryo, bhvrs: Roadmap and high yield stuffs. I don't know if Genetics, stats and neuroanatomy are high yield. Sticking with specific books is better than having of too much books. It makes you insane.

Peace.

haha, lol

I'm glad I could activate your hippocampus.

Any other comments on the booklist? add, remove something? replace something? I'm going to buy this evening...

I have to agree that the sticky is extremely convoluted.

Anyone else have any input on this booklist? I am in the process of searching/buying review books for stepI and to supplement classwork.

From my personal experience the past few weeks: FA (duh), RR Path, and CMMRS are must-buys. I did Biochem from Kaplan, but RR seems to be popular for that. All other subjects can probably be done w/ FA+UW.

Don't waste your time on histology, World and the NBME's will result in you spending more than enough time on the lowest yield subject.

Only use HY Embryo to clarify concepts in FA etc, don't memorize the whole thing.

Same with HY Neuroanatomy, except look at the pictures again close to your test.

FA and World is MORE THAN ENOUGH for pharms.

I had Anatomy Road map and I don't think I got a single Q right because of it. Those that I knew were in FA, those I didn't were in neither and were weird surgical things.

Read through CMMRS once quickly and then after a section read through the FA part and annotate/explain some of the aspects or add a bug here and there. But after that, don't touch it! And leave out the pharms in there, just do FA.

Good idea to buy a Immuno book IMO, I had Crash Course...

I wouldn't get the HY biostats and behavioral if I were you...FA and world covers this well enough IMO.
