Love the one you are with. Dance with the one that brung you. You are there now, in a spot you are fortunate to have.
Take initiative for your own education, fill in the gaps as much as you can, seek out the best mentor you can find and make yourself as useful as possible.
You may find that it gets better with time. Or not.
