As I understand it, you can have an ACGME-accredited non-boarded fellowship, i.e. surgical pathology.

Do you get a certificate/something to hang on your office wall for these?

If you do a non-accredited/non-Boarded fellowship do they still give you some form of a certificate?

The reason I'm asking is because BWH lists several non-accred nonboarded fellowships and say "this Fellowship training does not lead to additional certification, and is not accredited by the ACGME"

Thanks

you will probably still get a printed paper "certificate" when you graduate, but will not be officially board certified in that fellowship (as you would be for, say, hemepath or dermpath). Because the program is not-ACGME accredited, it means the program is not bound by many of the ACGME's rules and regulations; many such fellowships are essentially Jr. Faculty positions (this is my understanding, at least).

Regardless of the certificate, the year of experience (which you can put on your CV, of course) is the point of doing such a fellowship.
