Hi all I am actually a well rounded reader in this forum but haven't started posting untill I came close to some questions. Here is my problem. Last semester was tough with my three engineering classes and one bio-chem. I got the following grades , A+ ,C+, D+, D in my last semester. This was THE worst semester in my life(damn engineering projects). Any way I had 3.8 GPA befoe this semester and went down to 3.6 this semester. How does this one bad semester in my junior year hurt me(One D and one C- seems like a huge drop to me). I mean if I had done this bad in my freshman year I wouldn't regret it but this is junior and admission people might not like this down semeste. Did anyone had this type of situation in their junior year and got accepted please share your experience with us.

Relax, even with your "disastrous" (I employ the term loosely) semester, your GPA is still well above the average matriculant's. It'll come up in interviews, and you'll have to explain that you simply had a rough time for a few months, but that your trend of excellent performance should speak for itself. Don't worry so much about it.

Good news is that you still have another semester in your junior year. You can redeem yourself. Just work harder.

Not to mention that engineering isn't exactly a cakewalk major. 🙂

Let schools know that you're interested in doing dental materials research with your engineering background and they'll be begging you to come. 😉 Good luck.

you are damn right. It is not a cakewalk and is harder and takes lots of work by it is very interesting and I love it.

Engineering is such a challenging degree that i'm sure they will forgive you for a bad semester. if all predent student did engineering, the entrance gpa to dental schools would be 2.0! 😀
