Hi everybody, i could really use some advice from any of you that has a bit of experience with this whole application process!
Im from the DR and my stats so far are part 1 score:82, toefl:105. I already have my date set for the part 2 on june 2 n 3.

This is my dilemma....should i apply early with only my 2 scores above even tho i got a low score on part 1, or would u recommend i wait until i take my part 2 in June to apply with this score as well?? What do u think will affect me more, applying a bit late or applying with just my part 1 low score?

I have a 2 yr working experience in my country, oral n maxillofacial assistance, 2 diplomates in endodontics n esthetics and participated in an alzheimer's patients research. However i dont have any dental experience in the US.

Please, id appreciate ur help cus i really dont know what to do. I am so worried i'll get benched cus of that 1st score 🙁

Ideally I would say apply to schools first and then update your scores,because you don't want to wait for the perfect profile.Early bird always gets preference. For schools that require part 2, (which is what you should be targetting,because they see an applicant as a package and what he/she had done after graduation...not just part 1 score) you can do nothing but wait till your part 2 score comes.

If you can,get some U.S experience too.

I ddnt get your last Q..but you should do like complete the application & start applying to universities..like one said b4..you have better chances if you will apply early..even i am also taking my part2 in june..I have started filling out CAAPiD application as UIC has deadline July 1st..i asked UIC & they told me that upgrade your score later after july 1st but complete CAAPID & necessary documentation before july1st...so i guess university will accpet your score after deadline..

generally, they do update your application. Some like UOP are strict and won't upgrade after their deadline.

Just sucks that now i have to split time between work, applications and studying for my part 2!
