I just got my MCAT back and it was a complete disaster I scored a 15M :'(. I have no idea what to do at this point and was wondering if I could still get into pod schools anywhere? My gpa is around 3.3 and science gpa around 3.0??? Also are the interviews conducted in person on the campuses or on a telephone?

Interviews are in person on campus, and I would recommend retaking that mcat

I am by no means an expert on Pod admissions but I definitely agree with above about retaking WHEN YOU'RE READY!

it's early in the cycle...explain that you'll retake it, raise the score and see where it goes. Your GPA is on the average for schools, I wouldn't worry too much, just make the test your focus for the next few months, look over the MCAT subforum and do a thorough content review/take a review class if you would like

best of luck

- Spurs fan you are not lost hope. I was able to raise my 2nd MCAT score by 6 points. If you can do that you will be at a 21 combined with your GPA would give you great chances of getting in somewhere.
- Now the only trick is when to take the MCAT again, you cannot take it unless you are 100% ready. Try shooting for the one of the latter September dates, or first in January to have a shot at this cycle. Although, January migh be too late... I would shoot for September, but only unless you can for sure raise your score. Good Luck.

keep in mind that the application stays open until June 30. I dont think january would be too late, as long as you aren't too picky about where you want to go, because some schools may be close to capacity at that point. But then again, I have heard of people applying in june and being accepted.

Not to beat a dead horse but retaking is your only real chance. I have a 19 and I'm retaking later in Jan. I just hope my 19 will get me a conditional acceptance somewhere until I'm ready to retake. I wound gander you have a >99% chance of NOT getting any this cycle without a retake. AGain, get the dust off those EK books and prep for round deuce.

But I was wondering do I need to release my score of 15 to them now if I submit my application before I take the retake in January or do I just say I'm retaking it and not do anything about the first score because I'm afraid I might get screened out??

Call the schools you are interested in applying to and tell them your situation and hopefully they can answer whether or not applying to their school now or after Jan retake is the best process. This way you can see which schools you can apply to now or later.
