14QR will hurt. And it depends on when and where you plan on applying.

AA/TS is maybe a bit below average, your GPA is decent, and your EC looks stellar.

Ultimately, I would consider a retake, but your overall app may get you in somewhere.

I am applying next cycle 😀 Also thank you for the input!

Your application looks like it is overall in great shape.

Can you get it in somewhere with your 18AA? With your application, possibly. The thing is, based on your GPA and how hard it appears you have been working in general, I think you are more than capable of scoring higher. Scoring around 20 in all sections is something that you can accomplish. It could make a huge difference as to what schools you get accepted to (and if you get accepted at all).

The biggest problem is the 14 QR... that could be an application killer. Some schools have a cutoff of 15 for QR. That said, QR is the least important score on the DAT. A 14 is pretty low, though.

This shouldn't even be a question. You need to retake the DAT because your GPA is only average. Having an average DAT score on top of that will definitely make it harder for you to land an interview. Just follow other people's study tips here on SDN and kill it next it. Btw, shout out to PDSOP!

PDSOP?

PDSOP?

I thought you went to UCLA because of your certifications.

No. You do not need to be in UCLA to have certifications from them. It's open enrollment and other programs are linked w/ UCLA.. Also, as you can see.. if you clicked at programs for their pre dental classes at UCLA website. They are open for anyone not just UCLA students 😉

I know that but it seemed safe to assume that you went there.

serendipity28,

IMO the 14 in QR is going to be a problem at most schools. If you are not applying this cycle I would consider a retake. Why the 14 in QR? How did you prepare?

As always I suggest contacting the schools and giving them your stats and get advice directly from the schools.

Just my 2 cents

Nancy

I used math destroyer To prep for along with boot camp. I feel like I just wasn't ready for it as much as I thought. Maybe I am not reviewing my mistakes as carefully as I thought. Thank you dr. Nancy for your input. Also, what is your input about my average gpa and dat score with the extra curricular? Should I have a higher dat score to make up for the average gpa?
