Hello everyone, I have just been invited for an interview at UB, and there are two last interview dates available:
March 24th
April 14th
The earliest one is so close that a plane ticket costs around $600 without room and board. The last one is however $240. Also, I have spring break plans and I will be in Atlanta on march 24th and I do not want to dissapoint my friends. I am confused because I know in interviews, the earlier you have them the better and I am scared most of the seats will be filled up by then, making my chances of getting in slimmer. Please, I need help..forfeit spring break plans and spend over 600 dollars or wait. the lady told me it makes no difference and that I should wait but I am thinking she was just being nice. Please help! This is the first time I am applying to pharmacy school and since I took the pcat in january, everything seems to be late for me, so I need to do a good job at all my interviews.
Thanks

It is my understanding that early interviews only matter if the school admits students on a rolling admissions basis. Does UB have rolling admissions? Otherwise it shouldn't matter.

Agreed.

I'm certain if your friends know that pharmacy is your career of choice, they may be disappointed you can't join them, but you shouldn't loose any friends over it. Even so, better a friend than a dream.

If you are talking about the University at Buffalo I'd suggest interviewing as early as possible. When I interviewed there I was accepted 6 days later so in a sense I guess it is a rolling type admissions.

why wait.Take the first interview and get it out of the way.Everything else can wait if you do not get in this year you have to wait another year. The competition is getting not getting any weaker

For UB...

I think there were 14, 9 and 10 peeps for the first three interview dates, one thread stated that another interview had about 18 peeps. So, the number of interviewees are starting to increase and the number P-1 spots decreasing with each interview.

I wouldn't want to be in the final group competing for spots.

I think I would be more stressed out over Spring Break thinking about the interview that would be coming up. If I were you, I'd do the first one to get it done and be able to relax...
