Hello, I have only a couple of days until I need to submit my first deposit, and I'm feeling uncertain about which program to choose. I’m grateful to have received multiple acceptances; however, my top choices are Midwestern University in Arizona, Buffalo in NY, and Detroit Mercy Dental School in Michigan.

School 1: Midwestern AZ

Pros:

-I have heard great things about their clinical experiences.
-Tons of experience with all different types of procedures during D3-D4 so you are more prepared when you are graduating.
- From the third year you start doing extraction and root canal.
- The school also teaches you how to do implants.
- High/advanced technology
- No specialty so you don't get procedures taken from you.
- good weather throughout the year (besides summer)

cons:
- Cost - Pricy- TOTAL EXPENSES (TUTITION+ LIVING EXPENSES)= Around $600K for 4 years
- really hot during summer
- don't have any family or friends there- Far from Michigan

School 2: Buffalo New York

Pros:

- I heard it is one of the top 10 dental schools in the USA.
-Cost- The cost is a lot more affordable since it is a public school. TOTAL EXPENSES (TUTITION+ LIVING EXPENSES)= Around $372K
- 5 hours drive from home (Michigan)

Con:
-I heard it snows a lot
- I haven’t heard much about their clinical so I am worried about how many procedures I can get to do before graduating.
-they do have different specialty programs so I might not get to do as many procedures compared to a no-speciality program school.

School 3: Detroit Mercy (UDM)

Pros:

- It is home (family and friends are all here)
-live close to the school and I am familiar with the area.
I will be living with my parents, so it will be a little bit cheaper. (Still somewhat expensive since it is a private school.)

Cons:
- I haven't heard great things about their clinical experiences. I heard you barely get to do extraction or root canal since they have a specialty program.
-I heard they don't have that many full-time facilities and not a great communication system between facility and students.
- I heard during your third year you mainly do prophy (cleaning) and some fills, (barely any endo or extractions).
-They don't have high/advanced technology.
-Cost- Pricy-nTOTAL EXPENSES (TUTITION+ LIVING EXPENSES) = Around 500k living with parents

I really want to stay in Michigan and choose UDM, but I have heard numerous negative things about their program recently. I'm not sure what to do! I would appreciate any insights, whether positive or negative, from anyone who has knowledge of the program or from current or former students. With the deposit deadline just a couple of days away, I'm feeling stressed. Please help me!!
Thank you so much!

choose the cheapest school
plus buffalo has a good reputation...

Come on... it snows a lot in Detroit too.

Buffalo is cheaper. If you are fading UDM because of concerns about clinical experiences, why are you shaking Buffalo off? Unless you want to live with your parents, take Buffalo.
