I thought I would ask this to student's who have already been accepted to med school because you would be more experienced. I am currently in undergrad have completed 45 credits and have a 3.75 gpa. I have 4 w's all from freshman year due to a mjaor family issue. I have not completed the chemistry set yet but am currently in chm 113 and not doing to well. I have no prior experience with chemistry so I was wanting to get your opinion on either what I can do to improve currently have a 60% after one exam, or if I should drop take intro to chemistry and then retake chm 113? I have tried to learn it by doing several quizzes, practice q's.

Not really an allo question, but while we're here . . . it might help if you explain what chem 113 is. Intro? Intro for majors? Organic I?

CHM113 is General Chm I. I posted here because people here know the application process better than those in the pre-allo forum. I just wanted an opinion on what I should do and how the W's would affect me.

bump because I really need some input about this please.

Tough call.
If you drop out now, you still have to take it, and, in addition, you will be adding another W to your transcript.
What is a 60% grade letter-wise? Is the class grade curved?
Have you discussed this issue with your course coordinator/professor?
Any chance of you finding a tutor?
Unless you have a definite plan on how to improve your grade (definitely talk to your professor, you cannot possibly be the only one having troubles with chemistry), drop it. A W on the trascript looks better than a D or an F. Getting C's in gen chem I is probably not the best thing either, unless you immediately follow up with an A in gen chem II (still wouldn't recommend it).
Good luck and let us know how it works out for you!
