  1. Pre-Dental
Hello Everyone,

I am waitlisted for Midwestern and NYU. I am going out of mind since I love both schools. The admission coordinators for both schools have adviced me that a decision might be made until August. I do not know if I should re-apply again this year. My GPA is 3.2 and 3.3 science with DAT scores of 20-academic, 22-science, and 20-PAT. Please advise on what I can do to increase my chances of getting in this year. Or should I re-take the DAT. Or should I do a one year Masters. Thank you.

Sincerely,
jcole

You should re-apply with the same application. You might get in, the most you lose is a few hours submitting everything and $1-2k cash.

your DAT scores are good, i don't think you need to retake that. your GPA is ok but that may be why you got waitlisted, or maybe you applied late, and your file was reviewed late. i would apply again for new cycle, and take more classes and try to get A's. masters classes are so expensive, i don't know, maybe you can take classes as non degree post-bachelor classes. if money is not an issue, start masters, however you have to pay attention whether the dental school you wish to attend requires that you finish any degree or masters you entered. i gave up my spot at NYU so maybe you'll get that, and stay positive 🙂

Continue as you have no acceptances. Definitely submit early June and if you're not accepted, you have a back up plan.

Is money for the masters an issue?
