Aside from inorganic chems, organic chems, biology and calculus, what other subject should I study for?

The classes that I did not take were microbiology, physiology and anatomy.

Anyhow, which class is more important for the PCAT?

Moreover, should I take physiology instead of anatomy?

Sorry, I'm stupid when it comes to this. 🙁

I don't remember any microbiology on the exam, but I did take it a few years ago. There were a few anatomy questions. I am not sure about physiology at all. I tend to blend A&P so perhaps there were some and I have forgotten.

There were microbiology questions when I took it. I took the exam in...2001.

There is more anatomy than physiology on the exam but knowledge of all three wouldnt hurt since they may have changed again. But arent u required to take a and p as a pre-req for pharm school anyway 😕 ? Im in micro right now and aside from the lab, its a good course to have for background knowledge.

For the school that I want to attend, they don't require A & P nor Microbio. 🙁

However, they require the PCAT. How weird is that?

sigh

P.S. thank you for replying you guys.

I took the PCAT this past November and I would recommend A&P. Perhaps review some general concepts of micro, but I wouldn't focus on this much... there might have been a couple of questions, but none stick out to me. There was definately A&P though! Buy the Kaplan book and study from that. I used that and did very well and I hadn't taken either A&P I or II yet. The Kaplan review book covered all of the questions that were on my test.
Good luck 🙂

In regards to anatomy, be familiar with human blood flow. Know when the blood is oxygenated and when it's deoxygenated. That's all I can remember right now.

Almost my entire PCAT biology section related to human biology, anatomy and physiology. That being said, it was fairly basic. Almost every topic covered was in Cliffs Biology Review.

Does the Kaplan's PCAT biology review also do a good job at covering all the topics, or would the Cliffs Biology Review be better?
