Hey yall. I did not have the best start. I am currently a sophomore about to go into my 4th semester with a 2.95 overall GPA. By the end of the 4th semester, my GPA should be around a 3.0-3.1. I am an engineering major attending a top 3 public school in the nation. In my 2nd semester, I didn't do well and got 3 C's and 1 C+. Granted, that will never happen again to me as I have gotten 4 A's and 2 B's in this semester. I will start building up my EC's next semester. But what do you think of my chances?

You're in a good position because you still have plenty of time to bring everything up. Do well in your 5 remaining semesters, and try to bring your gpa up to at least 3.3-3.4.

Also when the time comes, study hard for the DAT and aim for a 22+

Extracurriculars are very important, try to start asap. Join a pre-dental club at your school if there is one, start shadowing dentists, go and do some volunteering activities.

It's way too early to say how good your chances are, but keep working hard (shoutout to your username) for the rest of college and you'll have a pretty good shot

Keep working hard, like your SDN id name. You still got time. Try to get as many A's as possible to bring your GPA up specially in the BSC and science courses. An upward trend is always highly regarded by the admissions committee.
