so i have been reading everyone's posts...i am starting to get worried my DAT scores were AA20/TS22/PAT18 but here is the catch, i got a 17 in RC...which sucks, because that was always my best section....my GPA is 3.5 overall, science 3.4 with nonscience 3.9. I have a lot of extra curric. I only applied in california (not LLU) and I am very worried.....do you guys think that this score will really hurt my chances, and that i should retake??? I submitted my aadsas 06/05.....i am starting to really worry, especially now that i have pretty much finished all my secondaries.Thanks in advance😳

no need to worry, I think your high TS score will back up the RC score.

If you applied to all of the schools in cali, I'm sure someone will send you a snail mail. 🙂

dude i feel you about being a little worried. our stats are very similar, except my sci GPA is lower for a couple of lame reasons.

anyway, ive got a 20AA/21TS/19PAT and got frapped so also have a 17 RC. my sci GPA is now 3.29 with cum GPA 3.63. im nervous about not getting into the texas schools. stay strong bro, i hope we both get in where we want 😀

The post seems like a joke but I'll respond as if it wasn't.

I'd apply to a few more schools to be safe, only applying to Cali schools is a bit cocky, in my opinion. Throw in applications to LLU, ASDOH, UNLV, Western, and Midwestern, just to be safe.

soooooo, i really dont mean to be funny or cocky, but i see how freaked out people got over RC scores, and i started to get worried......im a cali resident, and i have some familial reasons for having to stay in california...ideally id want to stay as close to home as possible. anywho, thanx for all your reassuring posts. ya, i was frapped too.bs.

I assumed you wanted to stay close to home, which is why I suggested nearby states like Nevada and Arizona. Sure, most people would prefer to stay in their home state, but we don't always have that luxury. Your stats are slightly above average so there's no guarantee that a Cali school will accept you. Better safe than sorry, and Nevada and Arizona are just a stone's throw away. Is staying near home more important or going to dental school? You could be asking yourself that as you're reapplying, thinking back to why you didn't apply to more schools... I really hope you get in somewhere, but if you don't you have no one else to blame...

If you believe you can do better, I think you should retake.

That's what I did. I ended up doing just slightly better than the first time, though. 😛
