hi all, please help, i don't know where to find answer for these questions. i tried google it and i don't have a pharmacology book. please help.

1. we give metolazone before laxis for synergistic effect? but what is the MOA? HOW does it do it?
2. how does thiazide cause hypercalcemia? the MOA

THANK you so much

Not really sure about the first question but for the second from the top of my head, thiazides work on the distal convoluted tubules in which they bind to and inhibit the Na+, Cl- co-transport carrier, therefore prevents their reabsorption, hence the side effect hypercalcemia.
