I just noticed an error on my AMCAS application...one of my volunteer experience ended 10/02 but on the application I mistakenly put that it ended 06/03, so it looks as though I stayed at this volunteer position 8 months longer than I actually did. What do I do? It was a mistake but I don't want med schools to think that I did it deliberately.

please help 🙁

Well, there is no way to change that info since you have submitted your application already. Honestly, I really think that the adcoms aren't going to call the location where you volunteered at and check the reference and the dates. Don't worry about it. They may ask you about how was your volunteering and what did you do but the extra 8 months doesn't really matter.

If it comes up in an interview about this experience just be honest about how long you were involved. It is good to see that someone is honest in this process:clap: -- alot of people I know have added months to things they have done and have made their activities out to be oh so special when in reality they might have helped out for an hour. Oh well, the lies on apps will catch up with them.😛

Agreed. It was an honest mistake, and if it comes up you should make sure you set the record straight. However, the length of time that you were at a particular job will probably not really come up again, so don't worry too much.
