Being a resident of Texas I have first hand experience with how competitive it is to get into a Texas school, D.O. or M.D. It depends on so many things. You have a solid MCAT but slightly below average GPA's. If you have not yet completed the TMDSAS or AACOMAS application, then you are also at somewhat of a disadvantage because you are late in the game. What does the rest of your application look like? Just as I did, my suggestion would be to apply to some out of state schools. This way you pretty much garauntee yourself a spot somewhere. I have been accepted to WVSOM and have interviewed at TCOM. Unfortunately with the Texas match system I will not find out about TCOM or any other Texas schools that I interview at until Feb. 1st. Good luck, hope that helps.
