Hello,

First off thank you to anyone who posts anything here to help me, it is much appreciated!

I will be a rising senior this year and my cumulative GPA is currently at a 3.05 and SGPA is about a 2.8 and I will be taking the June 21 MCAT. I expect my CGPA to be at around 3.1-3.15 by December and SGPA at around 2.9-3.05. I have done about 150 hours of shadowing, I am an ER Scribe currently and am also conducting research with a professor this summer. I know this is not medically related but I am also a Founding Father of a nationally well-known fraternity on my campus.

I have looked at these SMP's so far:
EVMS
BU
Drexel
VCU
RFU
TCOM (its near where I live)

If you guys have any input on which ones I should look at with those stats/what I can do to improve my application it would be much appreciated!

Better idea: delay graduation. Add a major or minor. This is the cheapest and least complicated way to do something about your GPA. Also: every grade you get that isn't an A is a step away from med school.

You don't say if you have an upward trend, but generally you'll get slaughtered in an SMP if you haven't already learned how to get straight A's in hard science classes. So unless your last 2 years were 3.7+ including lots of hard science, you're not done with undergrad.

Don't hurry on the MCAT. You should take the test once only and get your best possible score. I don't see that happening in less than a month given your GPA.

SMPs aren't going to erase your undergrad damage, and undergrad is still the first thing med schools look at even if you do great in an SMP.

Best of luck to you.
