I was wondering if anyone knows how important it is to complete every single pre-req before submission of the application. I want to apply for the fall 2007 cycle and will probably be short a physics class before i submit my app this summer. I ofcourse will complete the course soon afterwards and well in advance of starting dental school. ANY comments would be greatly appreciated. 😀

that shouldn't be a problem. just make sure you put that in as planned course.

I was accepted for fall 2006 without organic II and physics II. I am taking them now. It shouldn't be a problem.

If you have not finished all the pew-reqs you can still apply. During the interivew you will be pulled aside and you will go over your pre-reqs with an advisor. As long as you finish it all by the spring or summer term before dent school starts you are ok.

I got in before completing the psych req for ucla. during the interview i told then i am taking it right now, in the winter semester, and it all worked out.

good luck

i think that you have to have at least 90 credits to be looked upon. i would believe most of pre-reqs in the 90. call the schools you have in mind and see what they say.

I am freakin out over not having any upper biology courses on my transcript. Does anyone know how much of a difference this really makes? I should have proven that I can handle taking science courses at a University because my BCP is 3.6ish. I just can't relax about not having micro, biochem, etc on my transcripts.

The university if offering micro and molecular genetics this term but I can't fit them in as I am finishing my last two corereqs. The community college does offer them as night courses so I could take a anat/phiso and a microbiology course at the community college but I don't know if the adcoms want me to have this knoweldge or if they want to know that I was able to score well in these courses at a university....what do you all think?

I am a postbac so I already have my degree.

Edit: Alright, so I'm not really freakin out but it is my biggest concern.

I understand your situation because I was freaking out about the same thing this past summer. I almost didn't apply for 2006 because I was short pre-reqs and I only had A&P I & II for upper level calsses. I have my As in science (dental hygiene) and about 120 credit hours, but I was lacking Organic I &II and Physics I &II. I did decide (with a lot of encouragement ) to apply this past summer for 2006. I had my interview in jan, so by that time I had already completed part I of my missing classes. I am finishing up now and I still got accepted to WVU. Hope this eases your mind a little. 🙂
