I am a peospective student of Medicine from PAKISTAN. Here in Pakistan there is a college of Medicine claiming that it is affiliated with PAN PACIFIC UNIVERSITY, FLORIDA, USA for the award of degree in Medicine. Students will study in PAKISTYAN at that Medical College & University will award degree.

Please reply me about the status of PAN PACIFIC UNIVERSITY MEDICAL SCHOOL in USA. Is this University accredited by AMA & other relative bodies in USA.

The AMA does not accredit ANY medical schools - either in the US or abroad. The LCME (Liason Committee on Medical Education) does so for US schools only. There exists no US entity that I know of that renders opinions on the quality of foreign medical schools, even those affiliated with US schools.

I am unfamiliar with Pan Pacific University, but perhaps you can contact them and ask for specifics of the relationship with your medical school. I am suspect about any such relationship as I am not sure it confers you any real benefit - ie, I assume you will still be a graduate of a foreign medical school and as such, subject to ECFMG regulations. Find out what such a relationship (BTW, Pan Pacific University does NOT have a medical school) offers you and try and determine if there is any real benefit.

Perhaps others here can offer some information. if you should find out more, please let us know and perhaps we can comment more. In the meantime, I am moving this to the International Forum.
